FPC will face First Coast Friday, Nov. 19, in the first round of the state playoffs.
The Flagler Palm Coast High School Bulldogs closed their regular season Friday, Nov. 12, with a loss to Buchholz making their regular season record 4-9.
Throughout the season, the defense held the team together with the linebackers and the defensive linemen in the lead. But the team could have been more effective on offense throughout the year.
“We are just now getting to be a good team on offense mostly because our sophomore QB (Bentlee Critcher) has been able to handle more, and he now runs the team like a veteran,” Campana said.
The Bulldogs are now gearing up for the first-round playoff game against First Coast, Friday, Nov. 19—the team’s first playoff appearance since 2007.
For the Bulldogs to have a chance against undefeated First Coast (10-0), they will need to control the ball on offense, Campana said.
“They have a great QB and incredible Wide Receivers,” Campana said about First Coast. “They also have three backs who are faster than anyone on our team.”
First Coast will be the fourth undefeated team the Bulldogs have faced this year.
Campana said the best thing about coaching this year is how his team has kept fighting in spite of the odds.
“I expect our players to fight hard against FCHS no matter how good they are,” Campana said. “We don’t want this season to end. we love playing football too much.”
