Unlawful scooting
3:09 p.m. — North U.S. Highway 1 and Matanzas Woods Parkway. Traffic Stop. A deputy stopped a silver scooter because the tags were expired. When the deputy made contact with the operator and sole occupant of the scooter, he found that the young man’s driver’s license was suspended.
A check revealed that he had failed to pay traffic fines and failed to appear on traffic summons. This 19-year-old was taken into custody and issued a notice to appear. The young driver had no paperwork for the scooter, and the tag currently placed on the scooter was supposed to be on a different scooter.
March 27
Halt! Stop with that halter top!
4:48 p.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Larceny Shoplifting. The store’s loss-prevention officer told deputies that he observed two 19-year-old females selecting bathing suits from the clothing department.
The two young girls then concealed the items in a purse and exited the store. The officer escorted them to the back office until law enforcement arrived.
The total amount of merchandise stolen and recovered was $52.76. Both girls were issued notices to appear and released.
No plus, no minus, no nothing
6:30 a.m. — First Block of Berkshire Lane. Larceny Motor Vehicle. A victim advised deputies that the car battery from his Toyota had been stolen overnight.
He also stated that he left the vehicle unlocked overnight and when he tried to start his car this morning, the battery was gone.
There was no physical evidence to be collected on scene and there are no suspects at this time.
March 28
Cash stolen from unlocked car
7 p.m. — 3000 Block of Palm Coast Parkway Southeast. Larceny Motor Vehicle. A woman told deputies that someone stole a bag from underneath the front seat of her motor vehicle while it was parked at the Daytona State College Palm Coast Campus. The bag contained approximately $80 in cash, a silver nurse’s watch, and the woman’s Florida driver’s license. She also stated that her vehicle was not
locked, and the incident occurred on this date between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. There are no suspects at this time.

March 26
That’s just cold
9 a.m. — 300 Block of Palm Coast Parkway Southwest. Larceny. The owner of a store told deputies that, overnight, an unknown person stripped the air-conditioning units behind the complex. The owner showed him the damage, and the deputy observed five units that were taken apart.
March 27
Pickup or delivery?
6:30 p.m. — First Block of Red Clover Lane. Larceny. A woman was inside her residence when she heard a loud bang. She looked outside and saw a green two-door pickup truck leaving her driveway. She advised that there was an air-conditioning unit in the back of the pickup. It is unknown who owns the residence, which is in foreclosure.
March 28
Feels like a sauna in here
9 a.m. — 400 Block of Palm Coast Parkway Southwest. Larceny. A deputy responded to a property manager in regard to seven outside air-conditioning units being stolen. An employee stated that when she came into work in the morning, it was hot in the office.
When she turned the air conditioning on, it did not get any colder, and she called the service company.
All seven units were missing. It was estimated that the units are valued at $6,000 each. There are no suspects at this time.
