Phoenix Academy is now taking applications for the 2011-2012 school year. The maximum capacity is 88 students.

Phoenix Academy is a three-year pilot program for current fourth-grade students who are struggling academically in the traditional classroom.

Phoenix students and teachers use laptops provided to them to access and complete learning activities electronically, communicate via online chats and use the Internet to conduct research and participate in webinars.

Academic and behavioral records are carefully reviewed to determine if the student is a likely candidate for the program and that the teachers can meet the pupil’s needs before being enrolled in Phoenix Academy.

Parents are required to attend monthly parent support meetings and/or workshops.

For applications visit phoenix.flaglerschools.com or call Robin Dupont, at 446-6720.
