April 3
Bike unavailable
4:45 p.m. — First Block of East Diamond Drive. Larceny. A man advised that his green bicycle with a red lock had been stolen out of his garage. He also stated that the bike was more than likely stolen around 11 a.m.; he opened his garage around that time to go on a bike ride. He bought the bicycle at a store for $100. He drove around his neighborhood looking for the bicycle but was unable to locate it.
Skateboarding is not a crime
3:45 p.m. — First Block of Russell Drive. Property Damage. When a man arrived home from work in the afternoon, he observed that his rear bedroom window was broken.
There was a skateboard near the broken window. There are no known suspects at this time.
April 8
He made a dash for it
2:16 a.m. — County Road 13 and U.S. 1. Traffic Stop. A deputy conducted a traffic stop at the Flagler County Fairgrounds. The deputy observed that the taillight was not functioning correctly on the vehicle in question. The 18-year-old driver identified himself and seemed nervous and shaking. When asked if he was okay, the young man told the deputy that he was very nervous around police officers. The 17-year-old passenger stated that they were bored and went driving around Espanola.
The deputy smelled an odor of cannabis coming from the vehicle and asked to search the vehicle. During a search, he located a small amount of marijuana on the driver’s side seat. Also to the left of the steering wheel, there was a small area of the dashboard that was not attached. Inside this area was a clear plastic baggie containing more marijuana.
The passenger’s father was called to the scene, and the driver was arrested for possession of marijuana under 20 grams and transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility without incident.
April 13
iPromise there’s nothing in there
1:36 a.m. — White View and Belle Terre parkways. Traffic Stop. A deputy observed a male riding a bicycle, which did not have a front or rear light. The deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and advised the man of the bicycle violation.
The man was extremely nervous and stated that he was only 16 years old. When asked if his parents knew that he was out at this time of night, the young man replied, “Yeah.” The deputy asked to search the man’s backpack for anything illegal. Inside, he noticed a hard plastic iPod case with a white paper cover inside. Under the paper was a small plastic baggie containing marijuana.
His parents were called to the scene and he was issued a notice to appear.

April 5
Up the creek without a kayak
5:30 p.m. — First Block of Cortes Court. Larceny. A woman stated that her yellow two-seater kayak was stolen. The kayak is valued at $1,500. It was chained to a pillar on the water by the rear of her house. Upon further investigation, the deputy observed that the chain was forcibly removed from the pillar. The victim was not home at the time and did not hear or see anything suspicious. There are no suspects at this time and no further information.
