Tomorrow, Dec. 19, Home Instead Senior Care will host a wrapping party for all of the gifts collected for its Be a Santa for a Senior program which, similar to Toys for Tots, organizes locally to bring gifts to seniors on the holidays.

The program is conducted in partnership with local Walgreens stores. (Read past coverage HERE).

According to Debbie Ronson, Home Instead’s community service representative, since the printing of the Palm Coast Observer’s story on the program, her office has received more than five calls from residents asking to volunteer. All of the gift requests displayed on the three Christmas trees at Palm Coast’s Walgreens were collected, as well, allowing the company to expand its effort, adopting more seniors to receive gifts.

Initially, Home Instead aimed at providing Christmas gifts to 80 seniors.

Be a Santa to a Senior will close Wednesday, Dec. 21, when all presents are gifted, at Flagler Pines nursing home.
