Korey Kasch, coach of the Flagler Falcons, has been named the East Coast Conference Coach of the Year for 2011.
The winning coach is voted on by ECC officials.
This is the first time Kasch has ever won a coaching award.
The Falcons went 13-1 this season and lost in the state semifinals last month. The Falcons, who outscored opponents 433-79, were one of 28 teams still playing in the nation when they lost to Port St. Lucie.
“Coaching is something I take an extreme amount of pride in,” Kasch said Tuesday. “The relationships I’ve built over the years with the boys I have coached is the biggest reward I could ever ask for.
“I have the best group of assistant coaches a coach could ask for, which is why this award is really to all of us.”
