Florida Hospital Flagler has received the highest possible “Stage 7” designation for its Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model. The recognition makes the Palm Coast-based hospital the first in the state, and one of only 66 in the country, to earn the honor.

By keeping its records electronically, the hospital is able to share patient information with other health-care providers.

Florida Hospital Flagler will be recognized for the designation at the 2012 Annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Conference & Exhibition, in February, in Las Vegas.

The validation process to confirm a hospital has reached Stage 7 in electronic records-keeping includes a site visit by an HIMSS Analytics executive and a former or current chief information officer to ensure an unbiased evaluation.
