3:18 p.m. — First Block of Bannbury Lane. Drunk Driver. Police responded to a hit and run, reported by an anonymous person. An older male was driving recklessly in a white Chevy SUV. When stopped, the man smelled strongly of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and spoke with slurred speech. He stated he was just leaving his sister’s house and was traveling back to Clearwater.
The deputy asked the man to step out of his vehicle, and as he did so, the man nearly fell on his face into traffic. His balance was greatly challenged. The deputy asked him if he always has trouble with his balance or if he had been drinking.
Due to the man’s unstable condition, police skipped the sobriety tests and arrested the man for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and driving under the influence.

Happy New Year!
3 p.m. — 2800 Block of Orange Blossom Street, Bunnell. Larceny. A man stated that an unknown person removed his dirt bike from his property. The motorcycle was red, blue, black and yellow and was stored on his porch. The man stated that the night before, his two children were socializing with three other individuals in front of the residence. When he told his children to come inside, a verbal altercation started with the people in front of the residence.
The individual cursed and yelled at him before leaving, and he thinks this may be related to the incident. However, the man was unable to provide a serial number or a vehicle identification number. There is no more information at this time.

Time traveler?
8:30 p.m. — First Block of Pony Lane. Burglary. A woman stated that someone broke into her residence and that when she returned to her home, she noticed items moved around and several items missing.
The deputy observed the door to the rear screened-in patio enclosure was cut near the lock. The rear sliding glass door had been pried open at the lock. The woman stated that several jewelry items were taken. The woman also stated that her laptop was taken. There was no physical evidence to be collected on scene and there are no suspects at this time.
Booby trap on Briarvue?
5 p.m. — First Block of Briarvue Lane. Vandalism. An employee of a property management company advised that someone attempted to break into a home on Briarvue Lane.
The woman showed police some damage to the garage door and a rear window that leads into the garage. She also advised that when it was discovered, the overhead garage door was propped open with a brick. One of the rollers for the garage doors was tied with a wire, so they were unable to open it any further. On both sides of the overhead garage door and the rear window were pry marks. There are no suspects at this time and no further information to report.
