Gone
7:30 a.m. — First block of Raemoor Drive. Stolen vehicle. A victim stated that when she walked outside in the morning, she saw that her SUV was gone. She said her doors were locked and that there was a spare key under the driver’s side floor mat.
It’s raining, it’s pouring …
7:48 a.m. — 2100 Block of South Old Dixie Highway, Bunnell. Trespassing. Deputies noticed a bicycle leaning on the pool fence of a compound; the bicycle was attached to fence with a combination lock. The building had no trespassing signs posted in five locations.
The deputy located a man lying in a bed in one of the rooms of the compound. He said he knew the building was abandoned, and he was trying to get out of the rain. The deputy noted several beer bottles on the tables in the room, as well as clothes scattered about.
A check revealed that the bicycle had not been stolen. The man, who offered an address in Arizona as his home address, was arrested for trespassing and transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility.
Ravioli, hold the sauce
1 p.m. — First block of Brelyn Place. Burglary-residential. The victim advised that his former girlfriend came to his residence uninvited and unannounced. He said she took pasta and sauce and potentially other consumables.
The girlfriend denied stealing anything, but did say that she had prior permission to take food, such as ravioli, from the residence.
The woman was arrested for petit theft and burglary of an occupied structure.
July 3
Scooter towed
7:35 p.m. — First block of Buffalo Plains Lane. Abandoned vehicle. The deputy responded reference to an abandoned vehicle at a vacant wooded lot.
There, he found a blue motor scooter lying on the side of the road. It had been damaged and there was no license plate. The ignition had been removed. There was no identification with the scooter, and it was towed.
The tow-truck driver was asked to wear gloves so as not to disturb any potential evidence.
July 5
To BB or not to BB?
12:23 p.m. — First block of Red Barn Drive. Property damage. A deputy responded to a call regarding property damage. The resident said she returned home and began working at her desk when she noticed that the top sash of her window had been shattered, and a little hole was observed. There was a small, blue Air Soft pellet lying on the ground near the front door, and that may have been the cause of the damage.
Not in the lease
5:15 p.m. — First block of Palm Harbor Parkway. Larceny. When the deputy responded to a delayed larceny, the victim stated that on June 1, he rented out an apartment, which was furnished with two TVs. When he checked the apartment after the move-out date of July 5, he noticed that the two TVs had been taken without his permission.
Medicine man
7:38 p.m. — Palm Coast Parkway and Pine Cone Drive. Drunk driver. A witness informed dispatch that a white Pontiac was driving east into the westbound lanes of traffic and nearly striking street signs and light poles.
A sergeant observed and stopped the vehicle. He detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the man’s breath. The man’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy. He failed sobriety tests and stated that he was unable to do so because of his Parkinson’s disease medication.
Based on the officer’s observations, training and experience, the officer believed that the man’s normal faculties were impaired by alcohol, a chemical substance or a controlled substance. He was placed under arrest. His license had previously been suspended for a prior refusal to submit to a test of his breath.
