Much like the Lady Bulldogs tennis team, the boys team is led by a first-year head coach. Blake VandeBunte takes over the program, which is currently 0-4.

Last year’s team had numerous seniors, but this year’s team is led by five more seniors for Nos. 1 through 5. The team has one freshman on the seven-player squad.

The team is led by Ryan McDermott, a senior, as the No. 1 player. McDermott pairs with fellow senior Jeff Dentler (No. 3).

No. 2 player Codie Mundy, a senior, teams up with Adam Lehman (No. 4) for the team’s second doubles team.

Mundy and Lehman boast a winning record so far this season, according to VandeBunte.

VandeBunte said the team’s strength is its doubles.

“(The doubles teams) are very tough to beat,” he said. “We have struggled in singles — too many unforced errors.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Ryan McDermott, Sr.: He’s at the top of the senior class in academics and anchors the team as the No. 1 player.
Codie Mundy, Sr.: A returning senior with sound tennis skills and varsity experience.
Adam Leham, Sr.: Team’s No. 4 singles player and partners with Codie Mundy to make up the team’s second doubles team.
