The 16th-annual Rotary Club of Flagler County golf tournament featured a full field of golfers, competing in the four-player scramble at the Ocean Course.

Fifty-eight strokes was all one team needed to claim top honors Monday, May 2, in the 16th-annual Rotary Club of Flagler County golf tournament.

Hayward Brown-Flagler Insurance’s team, which featured Casey Kelley, Dick Caverly, Doug Wiley and Brad Meyers, earned top honors after shooting a 58 on the coveted Hammock Beach Ocean Course. The group edged out teams from Sun Country Pest Control and Florida Hospital Flagler by one stroke.

John Subers, co-director of the tournament, said the tournament was a success, which included 19 teams competing in the four-player scramble format.

Following the round of golf, which included various hole-in-one holes offering a new car or a trip to Hawaii, golfers came into the luncheon to the performance of the Matanzas High School steel drum band.

“I want to thank all of my fellow Rotarians who helped make the event the success it was, as well as all the sponsors and players,” Subers said.
