A committee of 12 juniors transformed the ballroom May 6, at the Hilton Daytona Beach, into a mystical night in Paris for the 2011 junior/senior prom. The theme: “Paris at Midnight.”

About 600 students attended the dance, which also featured French appetizers and a dessert buffet.

The ticket price of $45 included admittance to the dance, the buffet and a picture package provided by Cady and Cady Studios.

Guidance Counselor Karen Holmes said the biggest difference this year was how involved the junior class was in planning the iconic night.

“They wanted to see and approve everything,” Holmes said of the prom committee.

No prom is complete without the king and queen. This year’s crowns went to Corey Soard and Kayla Lamphier.

Juniors Hayley Moree and Nick Maiori won the princess and princess crowns.

Other court members were king: Aaron Pearson, Alvante Pearson, Claudio Prazeres and Markes Thomas; queen: Rachelle Barthellemy, Kaci Ellis, Justina Hampton and Shyla Ramage; prince: Avery James Eubanks, Alonzo Meade, Nico Medina and Collin Shakes; and princess: Ashton Crosby, Kacie Johnston, Brooke Landry and Stefanie Perosa.
