In an afternoon of lunch, fellowship and fashion Saturday, Nov. 12, the University Women of Flagler raised $4,000, enough to fund four to seven college scholarships for girls in Flagler County. About $700 of the total came from bake-sale profits.

More than 200 women, members and guests attended the Fashionable Transitions show, which featured fashions by Dillard’s and 14 boutique vendors, held at Hammock Beach Resort.

The University Women of Flagler comprises women who hold at least a bachelor’s degree.

The group’s mission is to promote equity, education, intellectual growth, individual worth and development of opportunities for women and girls in the Flagler area.

In its five-year history, the group has awarded 21 scholarships totaling more than $20,500.

The next fundraiser will be held in February, at the Flagler Beach Woman’s Club.
