After months of preparation, Team Feed Flagler’s free Community Thanksgiving Celebration will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 11 locations throughout the county.

For the second year straight, Sandra Mullen’s Chicks with Cans team collected the most food. Although there seems to be a slight dispute over the amount they collected — Mullen and her team estimate 50,000 to 60,000, while county officials estimate closer to 20,000 — one thing is clear: they dominated their competition category.

The runner-up, the Sheriff’s office, collected 10,000 pounds. Last year, Chicks with Cans won with raising only (ha, “only”) 4,000 pounds.

The locations which will host the dinners, open to all in the community, are all follows:

Buddy Taylor Middle School -- 4500 Belle Terre Parkway
Bunnell Elementary -- 305 N. Palmetto Street
Bunnell First United Methodist Church -- 205 Pine Street
Espanola Community Center -- 3055 C.R. 13
First AME Church of Palm Coast -- 91 Old Kings Road North
Hammock First Baptist Church -- 5328 Oceanshore Blvd, (S.R. A1A)
Hidden Trails Community Center -- 6108 Mahogany Blvd.
Mt. Calvary Baptist Church -- 75 Pine Lakes Parkway South
Pellicer Community Center -- 1380 C.R. 2007
St. James Missionary Baptist Church -- 609 State Street (U.S. 1)
Wickline Center -- 800 S.Daytona Ave.

All attending families will also be invited to take home a week’s worth of nonperishables, in a box containing social service materials, listing all the services available to Flagler County residents, as well as free park/holiday events.

Free Flu shots will also be available.
