The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates is currently accepting nominations for the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, the Flagler Beach Chamber, the Palm Coast Chamber and the Bunnell Chamber boards of directors, as well as for the Young Professionals Group of Flagler County.
The final day to submit a nomination is Friday, Oct. 14.
To nominate a candidate, a nomination form (email [email protected]) must be completed and submitted to Executive Vice President Rebecca DeLorenzo. Individuals may nominate themselves using the same process.
The nominating committee, made of Garry Lubi, vice chairman of the county board, one representative from each affiliate board and three members at large, will review all nominations and prepare a slate of candidates equal to the number of directors whose terms are expiring, or who are up for re-election. The committee will ensure adequate representation of different types and sizes of businesses within the chamber membership.
Candidates must be members in good standing. Trustee members cannot be nominated.
The nominating committee will present its slate to the full board at its Oct. 27 meeting. Candidate lists will be circulated to the general membership Oct. 28. At that time, members may nominate additional candidates by petition (petitions require original signatures of at least 5% of good-standing voting members, and should be submitted to the nominating committee no later than 14 days after receiving the proposed slate).
Members will be asked to vote for the same number of candidates as there are board vacancies. Ballots must be postmarked no later than 15 days after the notice was received.
The new slate will be declared elected at the November board meeting. In case of a tie, the selection shall be made by lot, under the direction of the board of directors. If no petitions are received, the nominated slate of candidates shall be voted on and ratified by the board of directors at the November meeting.
