If you’re going to be a greeter, you have to know where everything is. And so, Sahaquira Moye and Cassandra Grevecoeur toured Florida Hospital Flagler Wednesday, Oct. 19. The two Flagler Technical Institute students were participating in Disability Mentoring Day.

Disability Mentoring Day is a nationwide effort to promote career development for students with disabilities through hands-on career exploration.

Twelve students from Flagler Palm Coast High School and Flagler Technical Institute’s Transitions program were matched with Florida Hospital Flagler volunteers for an hour of rounds, to learn what hospital volunteers do.

“I would want to be a greeter,” Moye said, as she sat at a café table after the tour. “I love people, and I love to make people smile.”

Participants also shadowed volunteers in the emergency room, the kitchen, same-day surgery and wheelchair recovery.
