The one that got away
6 p.m. — First Block of Wellwater Drive. Robbery. The victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, parked in the driveway of a friend’s house, when a white male grabbed her wallet from her purse. The victim stated she had $3,000 in $100 bills in her wallet at the time and that her purse was sitting on her lap when the crime occurred.
She advised the suspect took the cash from her wallet as he ran to the front of the vehicle, then threw the wallet on the ground and fled the scene. The victim’s friend saw the subject running toward Pine Lakes Parkway and into the woods. She was able to identify the subject and grab him in an attempt to hold him down, but he got away. Cell mates
1 a.m. — 200 Block of St. Joe Plaza Drive. Larceny. The victim stated that, while out on Friday night, he placed his cell phone on the bar. He then turned around to talk to acquaintances for several minutes, and when he turned back to the bar, he noticed that the phone was missing. Security camera footage revealed a male suspect taking the cell phone. The suspect is still unidentified at this time.
Deals fuel and far between
1:30 p.m. — 1200 Block of Palm Harbor Parkway. Fraud. A victim advised that his bank account was charged $126 at a gas station after he only put $25.25 in gas into his vehicle earlier that day. Upon contacting his bank in regard to a declined card, he was told he was charged the above amount.
The victim advised that he only has an 11-gallon gas tank that would not be capable of holding $126 worth of fuel. After returning to the gas station to inquire, employees inspected the gas pump and advised they would contact the store manager, but were unable to get him on the telephone. They are unable to do anything at this time.
Foiled again
5:30 p.m. — First Block of Riverside Lane. Criminal mischief. A victim stated that the previous evening, she heard a loud bang but thought it was her dishwasher. The following morning, she noticed her mailbox was severely damaged; the top half appeared to have been blown off, and it was lying in the middle of the road. A plastic bottle and four small pieces of twisted aluminum foil were found. Inside the bottle was a blue-green unidentified liquid. None of the victim’s neighbors heard or saw anything suspicious, but this was one of three similar cases reported within the span of several days.
