MARCH 23
Break-in news
8:55 p.m. — 3000 Block of County Road 13. Burglary Residential. A victim advised that everyone left her residence to go to work at 1 a.m. and arrived back home at approximately 6 p.m. Her sister was the first to notice that items were moved or missing from the back of the residence.

The victim advised she went into her bedroom and noticed her jewelry box on the ground and other items thrown around. Her rented laptop computer was missing. Also missing: medication, including hydrocodone, and a pack of cigarettes.

Another victim in the residence was also missing medication, and a third victim was missing a Nokia cell phone. He advised it was worth approximately $35, and when he called the phone a male answered and immediately hung up.

The residence was left unlocked; no forced entry was made.

MARCH 24
Unknown tools worth $1,000
6:52 p.m. — First Block of Prince Eric Lane. Burglary Investigate. A victim advised that a bag of tools was stolen out of his garage. His mother-in-law had opened the garage door to do some gardening, and while she was in the backyard, an unknown suspect entered and took the bag from under a work bench. The victim was unsure how many tools were inside, but advised they were worth an estimated value of $1,000. No evidence could be found.

MARCH 26
Baking Soda Bandit charged
11:48 a.m. — 4000 Block of Belle Terre Parkway. Larceny Shoplifting. An employee stated that he witnessed a suspect walk into the store and grab several items, valued at $59.21, from the meat area. The suspect then selected paper towels valued at $5.49, an 18-pack of beer valued at $13.49 and pretzels valued at $5. She placed all of the items in her cart and passed all points of sale without paying for the merchandise.

She was confronted outside the store and escorted to the office. She admitted to stealing the items, and it was found that she’d also taken a box of baking soda valued at 75 cents and wipes valued at $2.99.

The business wishes to prosecute in the amount of $88.79. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with shoplifting.
