Flagler Beach’s First Friday event attempted to do more than entertain April 6. This month, the event had a deeper purpose to raise melanoma awareness and remember Flagler Beach resident Mike “Bowler” Cristello, who recently died from skin cancer.

Despite strong winds, Veterans Park was grooving with live music by Folkin’ Up The ’80s and a fashion show featuring local boutiques.

Next month’s First Friday will focus on getting healthy and staying fit, with a fitness course and free bike helmets.
