Celebrating 100 years

Edna Mahnke turned 100 years old April 3 and celebrated with a surprise party at the Wickline Center, in Flagler Beach.

Mahnke has lived in Palm Coast for 15 years and has two children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

More than anything, the birthday girl loves to dance. Mahnke even taught the nurses how to line dance a couple years ago during a hospital stay.

Mahnke said next year she will be 99 years old.

“I’m counting down from here,” she said, after waving out the candles on her cake.
