Grace's Place Bagels & Deli is officially open.
"We're finally open," said Co-owner Grace Tutak. "Hopefully all the people who were waiting patiently will come back. We had our soft opening yesterday, and it went really well, so we decided to officially open today."
The bagel shop, at 1000 Palm Coast Parkway, is in the same location as the former Best Bagels & Deli, which closed unexpectedly in December. Many of the former employees are back and working at Grace's Place.
Tutak said the items for sale are freshly baked in-house. The shop is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., for breakfast and lunch only. "But we have items on our deli case that people can bring home for dinner, like Grace's homemade Italian meatballs," Tutak said. "And chicken cutlets fried in olive oil."
The soft opening was supposed to be Friday, but insulation problem caused smoke and delayed the soft opening until Sunday. As a result, the shop will only have specialty bagels for today: asiago, French toast and jalapeño cheddar.
"Tomorrow, we're full steam ahead," Tutak said.
