Bulldogs baseball defeats St. Augustine in season finale

Flagler Palm Coast plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning Friday night, defeating St. Augustine, 9-8, in the final regular game of the season.

The Bulldogs (12-12) were led in hitting by Lorenza Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Third baseman Josh Greiner went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two walks. Quadre Butler went 2-for-4 with a double.

After the Bulldogs took a 7-2 lead, St. Augustine rallied to score five runs in the top of the seventh inning, going ahead 8-7. But in the bottom of the seventh, FPC scored two runs for the walk-off victory.

Next up, FPC will be the No. 3 seed in the District 1-8A tournament. The Bulldogs play Mandarin (No. 2 seed) 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 24. The winner of that game will play No. 1-seeded Sandalwood 6 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in the championship.
