The 2012 Back to School Jam will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Flagler Palm Coast High School.
This event will provide all families of school-age children the opportunity to purchase uniform clothing and school supplies at discount prices, and obtain educational information and resources. Local retailers, community services and organizations will be represented.
Free immunizations and bike helmets will be offered. For shots, the student’s shot record is required. To sign up early, call Flagler County Health Department at 437-7350, Ext. 2219.
There will also be $5 backpacks while supplies last.
Entertainment will be provided by live DJ Greg Bruce from DJBizzi.

Blood Drive — 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Lowe's, 315 Cypress Edge Drive.
Jamaica 50th Independence Celebration — 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Italian American Social Club, 45 Old Kings Road N. Hosted by the United Caribbean Cultural Association of Palm Coast. There will be cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by dinner and dancing. Cost is $60 per person. Dress is formal and there will be a cash bar/door prizes. ‘The Skinny on the Skinny’ — 7:30 p.m. Saturday Aug. 4, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at City Repertory Theatre, Hollingsworth Gallery, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B207. An original production written, adapted and directed by John Sbordone, assisted by Diane Ellertsen and Lynne DiCianni. The play centers on our concepts of body image and tackles the difficult issues of eating disorders, body types, relationships and media hyping of ways to lose weight. Cost is $10. Call 585-9415.
