FPC girls soccer coach Pete Hald has run his camp since 1998.

Twenty-nine soccer players weaved through cones one at a time, passing the ball to another player and then lining back up for yet another dribbling drill Tuesday, July 31, at the first day of the Go To Goal soccer camp.

Flagler Palm Coast High School girls soccer coach Pete Hald has been doing the summer camp, which is for female soccer players in seventh to 12th grade, since 1998. (He has been doing it on his own since 2000.)

Hald did another session earlier this summer, which featured 23 campers.

The purpose of the camp, Hald said, is to teach the technical aspect of the game.

“We work hard on the fundamentals of the game, and then I put them in competitions and games to see how they do under pressure,” Hald said.

Many of the campers either play for Hald on the Lady Bulldogs team or for his FC United club team.

“These are two different groups, so the numbers are good and the level of play is high, which allows me to do so many higher-level drills and activities with them,” he said.
