A crash on Interstate 95 before dawn Aug. 11 tangled up two tractor trailors.
Kelly M. Frazier, 20, of Palm Coast, possibly fell asleep at the wheel at 2:25 a.m. Aug. 11, on Interstate 95, at mile marker 283 northbound. While driving a 2009 Ford Focus, she hit the rear of a trailer, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
As a result, her car became inoperable, with its lights out, in the middle of the road. She got out, ran to the shoulder and dialed 911. The driver of the other car continued northbound and nothing is known about that vehicle.
However, two other tractor trailors to crash while attempting to avoid Frazier’s Focus. Martin Seneosacarlos, 48, of North Miami Beach, crashed with passenger Gregory Wright, 39, of Boynton Beach. Both sustained minor injuries and were treated at Florida Hospital Flagler.
Seneosacarlos’ tractor trailor overturned and slid onto a grass median, causing $50,000 in damage and resulting in the gas tank leaking. The Department of Environmental Protection arrived to examine the hazardous material scene.
The other truck was driven by Furman Craft, 44, of Miami, with passenger Christopher Deselms, 51, of Lake Worth. Neither of them sustained any injuries. The steering of the truck was disabled when it hit debris in the road, causing $5,000 in damage.
Kelly Frazier was charged with careless driving, driving while her license was suspended and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
