The City Council will continue to develop its strategic action plan at Tuesday morning’s workshop. Joe Roy, area manager for the Business Assistance Center, has acted as the city’s facilitator since discussions began in March.
Also on the workshop agenda is the approval of a contract with S.E. Cline Construction Inc., in the amount of $229,157.50 (including a 10% contingency for potential added costs) for a weir on Royal Palms Waterway, adjacent to Royal Palms Parkway. According to city documents, the water-control structure has severely eroded because of failing concrete.
The structure was replaced in 2002, and on several occasions, repairs were made to the concrete to temporarily secure the structure from washing out, according to the city report.
The engineer’s estimate for the project was about $266,000.
Also on Tuesday’s agenda is a budget discussion related to mowing and fleet finance options. The City Council will set its final 2012-2013 fiscal year budget and millage rate next month.
The final millage rate that could be set next month could be discussed Tuesday, according to City Manager Jim Landon.
The meeting gets under way 9 a.m. at City Offices, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B-106.
