+ Preferred Management celebrates 17 years
Preferred Management Services has reached 17 years of business in Flagler.
Having opened her company in 1995, Owner Lea Stokes now employs 13. Combined, staff has more than 50 years of experience in accounting and association management.
Stokes is also previous chairwoman of the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates board, president of the Flagler Beach Rotary, president of the Flagler Beach Chamber of Commerce and a board member on the Flagler Beach Historical Museum and the Florida Hospital Foundation.
“To look back on 17 years seems almost surreal,” Stokes said. “Time really does fly when you are having fun and love what you do.”
In April, Preferred Management Services entered a joint venture with RE/MAX Oceanside. Together, the firms purchased Commercial World Inc., a commercial-only real estate firm. RE/MAX provides the sales and leasing portion of the business, while Preferred Management Services handles the property management and accounting. + Easter Seals wins Gold Seal Quality Care award
The National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs has announced that Easter Seals, Volusia & Flagler Counties has been nationally designated, giving the organization the Department of Children and Families’ “Gold Seal Quality Care” recognition.
The judging process included onsite observation and evaluations from administrators, staff and parents.

+ Otolaryngologist Tucker joins Florida Hospital Flagler
Otolaryngologist, or ear, nose and throat doctor, Anthony Tucker has joined staff at Florida Hospital Flagler.
Tucker specializes in allergy testing and treatment; pediatric ear, nose and throat surgery; endocrine surgery; head and neck cancer surgery; nasal and sinus surgery; sleep medicine surgery; balance disorders; ear disorders; voice rehabilitation; and treatment of head and neck skin disorders.
Tucker earned his degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his residency at the University of South Florida. He also served in the Navy as an otolaryngologist.

+ Intracoastal Bank named one of America’s safest
Intracoastal Bank was recently namedone of the safest banks in America by MSN Money. Of 7,300 total banks in the country, Intracoastal was one of 359 listed, putting it in the top 5%.
MSN Money’s method for measuring a bank’s security was developed by Gerard Cassidy, of RBC Capital Markets, who used the formula to predict bank failures in Texas during the 1980s.
The closer the ratio gets to zero, the lower the bank’s risk of failure. Intracoastal was one of 359 banks given a perfect ranking.
