A man driving a pickup truck full of horse feed and hay flipped Tuesday morning, leaving one driver in serious condition, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Michael Walker, 91, of Hastings, was heading north around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, in his Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. Traveling in the center lane, Walker began to move into the inside lane to pass, but another vehicle was traveling north.

The left rear of Walker's vehicle struck the right front of a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Ronnie Lowery, 48, of Brooklet, Ga., according to the FHP report.

“After impact, (Walker's) vehicle began to rotate clockwise and move across the center lane into the outside lane,” the report states.

Walker's pickup truck overturned, spilling its load of hay and horse feed and came to rest on its roof in the outside lane, according to the report.

Lowery, and his passenger, Elizabeth Owens, 46, did not sustain any injuries.
