Unofficial results are in for Flagler County’s Aug. 14 primary election, showing Trey Corbett, Charles Ericksen and Craig Atack winning out in close runs for supervisor of elections (Republican), county commissioner and county court judge, respectively.
Judge candidate Melissa Moore Stens, who received 3,670 votes (22.93%), finished in second place and will face Atack in November's general election.
Incumbent Donald Fleming defeated Ray Stevens and John Pollinger in the Republican race for sheriff. Fleming will face Jim Manfre, who defeated Democrat Karl Tozzi, in the November election.
Frank Meeker defeated Dennis McDonald for county commissioner. Meeker will face a write-in and no-party-affiliation candidate Abby Romaine. Ericksen will face a write-in candidate in the November election.
Corbett will face Democratic incumbent Kimberle Weeks in the supervisor of elections race.
Current School Board members Colleen Conklin and Sue Dickinson will keep their seats. And the electorate also passed a continuance of the school district’s half-penny sales tax by a landslide vote of 9928 to 5669.
Gail Wadsworth won the race for clerk of court. She will face a write-in in November.
Of 67,814 registered voters in the county, a total of 16,933, or 25.05%, voted in the primary.
