Kelly Lohman, daughter of Richard and Sharon Lohman, of Orlando, and Shaun Collum, son of Bill Collum, of Palm Coast, and Steven and Net Abbot, of Birmingham, Ala. recently got engaged.

Even though Shaun and Kelly have known each other since the early 90s, played coed softball in Orlando for for several years, and his best friend was her neighbor they didn't find love until the summer of 2006.

What started out as a weekend vacation with friends to Cocoa beach ended with the beginning of new love.
They recently moved to Palm Coast, when Shaun's father opened the Pop-A-Lock franchisee and Flagler County has been considered home ever since.

Little did Kelly know that Shaun had been planning the proposal since early 2012, when Shaun secretly took a trip to Orlando to ask Kelly's parents for their permission.

In June, Kelly received an email on a Thursday that read, "pack your bags for the weekend - we leave tomorrow at noon.”

"I really had no clue it was coming, I have been begging for a beach getaway for a while, so I just assumed I was finally getting my relaxing wish," Kelly said.

After a weekend of canoeing, horseback riding, and sunshine, Shaun got down on one need on the sandy beaches of Amelia Island to pop the question.

The two will make it official with a Sept. 15 wedding, at Hammock Dunes.
