The following is adapted from a press release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office:

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is still collecting firearms for residents who missed the Aug. 11 gun buyback. Residents may turn in operational firearms for a $50 gift card while supplies last.

The program is funded through a $7,000 grant awarded by the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners.

“We have received several inquiries from residents who missed the event and want to extend this service,” said Sheriff Donald W. Fleming in a statement. “This is an opportunity for people to discard their unwanted firearms in a safe manner.

The program allows residents to remain anonymous. Firearms will be accepted at the Sheriff’s Operations Center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those bringing the weapons to the Operations Center should leave the unloaded weapon in their vehicle and notify the receptionist that you have a firearm. A deputy will come out to your vehicle.

For those unable to travel to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies will pick up the firearms.
