Thieves of expensive taste
10 a.m. — First Block of Leaver Drive. Larceny. A victim returned from a business trip to find her 18-karat gold Rolex watch (valued at $18,500) and 18-karat gold Tiffany & Co. earrings (valued at $2,500) missing. There was no sign of forced entry, and no other items were missing.
Car toys
10:30 a.m. — 100 Block of Wellwood Lane. Larceny. A victim parked his car in his driveway overnight and locked all the doors. The next morning he discovered the right back window was broken and the door to his vehicle was open. When the victim went into his vehicle, he noticed his 46-inch flat screen television (valued at $2,000) was missing; also missing were a PlayStation 3 and 50 CDs.
Slash and seize
5 p.m. — First Block of Plateau Lane. Burglary. A victim reported that she returned to her residence to find her master bedroom closet a mess. She then noticed that a jewelry box and jewelry, which were kept in the closet, were missing.
The victim then walked around the rest of the house and noticed that her Dell laptop, Canon digital camera, JVC camcorder, Wii game console and coin collection were also missing. Upon investigation, the back porch and a bedroom window screen were found to be cut.
Buckle up for safety
5:42 p.m. — First Block of Old Kings Road. Arrest. An officer performed a traffic stop on a driver who was observed to be not wearing his seatbelt. When checking the driver’s license, the officer found the driver’s license to be suspended for being a habitual traffic violation. The man was placed under arrest.
The officer then found a clear glass jar containing approximately 9.8 grams of cannabis, and more of the substance was found on one of the vehicle’s passengers, who was also placed under arrest.
