A Palm Coast man was killed around 9:55 p.m. Monday after he failed to negotiate a turn along U.S. 1, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
David Brown, 55, was traveling southbound on U.S. 1, occupying the right lane. He failed to negotiate a left curve and proceeded onto the west shoulder, the report states.
Brown’s 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle then began to overturn “a number of times” before Brown was ejected.
The motorcycle struck the back of an unoccupied fifth-wheel travel trailer that was parked in front of a residence along U.S. 1, according to the report. The motorcycle came to a final rest inside the travel trailer.
Brown tumbled southbound along the west grass shoulder before coming to final rest.
According to the report, Brown was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol involvement is pending, according to the report.
