CRT to present ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
The City Repertory Theatre will perform “It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” by Joe Landry opening 2 p.m. Dec. 9. The show will run 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12-15 and 2 p.m. Dec. 16.
Inspired by the classic American film, “It's a Wonderful Life,” “It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. Five actors perform the dozens of characters in the radio play as well as produce the sound effects.
Andre Maybin and Dani' Talo play George and Mary in this retelling of the famous American tale. John Sbordone, Tim Thomas, Carrie Van Tol create the other characters in the town of Bedford Falls, Terence van Auki n and John Birney bring the live sound effects and live music to life.
The production is directed by John Sbordone and Diane Ellertsen. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Wednesday tickets are all $10. Call the box office at 585-9415. The theatre is located at Hollingsworth Gallery, 160 Cypress Point Parkway.
Holiday traditions return to Flagler Playhouse with ‘A Christmas Carol’
The Flagler Playhouse kicks off the holiday season with its annual production of “ Christmas Carol,” beginning Friday, Dec. 7, for seven shows, including a special Thursday night show, Dec. 13. Show time is 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
In this new adaptation of the Charles Dickens favorite, the lovable old miser Ebenezer Scrooge finds himself thrust into a ghost story in which the curtain separating the spirit world from the waking world is drawn away. A cast of ghostly specters visit the grisly curmudgeon Scrooge, each attempting to teach him a lesson about what matters most in life. This production, directed by Chelsye P. Ginn, plays up the supernatural aspects within the classic Christmas ghost story and features traditional English carols.

Halifax Women’s Golf Association donates to Florida Hospitals
The Halifax Women’s Golf Association hosted a Pink Army Golf tournament to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.
More than 80 participants played in the golf tournament, which raised nearly $2,500 for both Florida Hospital Flagler and Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. These funds will help the hospitals’ provide mammograms and other diagnostic procedures to local women in need.
Bunnell students visit Long’s Landing
Close to 200 sixth-grade students from Bunnell Elementary School visited Long’s Creek Nature Preserve, also known as Long’s Landing, last week as part of the city of Palm Coast’s Children Helping in Resource Protection program.
Students rotated between stations centered on environmental education, including planting tree and testing water. Students also saw a program featuring wild birds.
Festival of Wreaths raises $2,000
The Windsor of Palm Coast’s 4th-annual Festival of Wreaths Sunday, Dec. 2 raised $2,000 for Meals on Wheels of Flagler County.
Wreaths were donated by several local businesses, some included Mad Monk Art, Art & Soul Studio,
Vitas Hospice, Dunkin Donuts, Dr’s Choice and Este Lauder local residents.
Yacht Club to carol on the canals
The Flagler Beach Yacht Club will cruise the main canals of Palm Coast in their decorated boats 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, weather permitting.
Palm Coast residents and their friends are invited to join in the singing from their backyards as their caroling flotilla passes their homes. They will be starting from and returning to the Palm Coast Marina which has allowed the club to use their facilities as its staging area.
So, tune up your voices to help them launch the holiday season with song.
