Some roads in the vicinity of Palm Coast’s Central Park will be closed for part of the day Saturday, Dec. 15, because of the Starlight Holiday Parade and Half Marathon.

Parade lineup will stage on Central Avenue (behind Publix) starting at 2 p.m. For runners participating in the Starlight Half Marathon and 5K, parking and shuttle are available behind the Flagler Palm Coast High School, 5400 E. Moody Blvd. Shuttles will be provided for runners starting at 4 p.m.

Central Avenue westbound from Park Street to Belle Terre Parkway will be closed to all traffic starting at 1:30 p.m. until after the parade is concluded (approximately 9 p.m.).

Eastbound Central Avenue will be closed from Belle Terre Parkway to Bulldog Drive from 5 p.m. until approximately 9 p.m.

Northbound Bulldog Drive will be closed from 5:45 p.m. until approximately 9 p.m.

Any traffic arriving after 5:45 p.m. will be routed to Town Center Boulevard. Everyone coming to the parade is advised to arrive early.

Patrons of Epic Theater are encouraged to use Town Center Boulevard to Central Avenue throughout the day to minimize their inconvenience.

Both the Parade and the race will begin at 6 p.m. The Starlight Parade will feature dozens of colorful lighted floats, marching bands and other entries. Prizes will be awarded for the top entries. The route will begin at the Round-About on Central Avenue (east of Market Avenue) and head east; turning north onto Park Street, east onto Lake Avenue, and south on City Place; then continuing south of Bulldog Drive.
