If you haven’t bumped a golf swing wearing something called the HEDICUS, the reality is that you soon will.

Five or six years ago, I was playing a round at the Cypress Course during its Nine and Dine event with my friend, Craig Ranciato. Little did I know, more than just golf was on his mind.

All these years later, that “something” suddenly broke loose, and the Ranciato team of six investors is now on the way toward national and global sales.

I haven’t seen the HEDICUS product yet, but I have read that is designed to be the easiest and fastest way to learn how to properly position your head behind the ball, minimize head movement and promote better ball striking. It’s also supposed to promote good arm extension and the finishing of a swing.

How many of you — like me — get ready to whack the golf ball up the fairway and bingo, around comes the head before the club comes down?

And remember, this idea — this invention — comes from a Palm Coast golfer who worked his heart out to take himself from the high 70s and low 80s to scoring numbers in the high 60s. Keep an eye out and watch for HEDICUS on the market. It has cleared the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and has investors raring to go.

A gift from Staten Island
A group known as the Sludgehammers was the popular rage of golfers from Staten Island, N.Y.

Then, when Palm Coast began its enormous growth, the Sludgehammers were a hefty part of it, including the likes of Jim Canfield, George Rhatigan, Jake Jacoby, Billy Johnson, Jerry Scully, Pete Donlan and more. And most are swinging away to this day, with their home base now being the Grand Club’s Pine Lakes and Cypress Knoll courses. They began at Palm Harbor.

New faces have arrived, too, including Mike Joyce, Stew Manthey, Bob Ross, Rich Thompson, Dennis Willerth, Dan Tearpock and David Sludnicki.

But most of all, this is my time for Merry Christmas wishes to Col. Bob Jones, a wonderful friend from New Hampshire, to Ray Epperson, Harry Davis, David Ragsdale and tons more of wonderful Palm Coast people.

Thank you, one and al,l for being so nice week after week.

From the bottom of my heart, a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!
