Nick Myers decided to take care of things himself Thursday night and get his Flagler Palm Coast baseball team its second win of the season.

FPC (2-3) defeated Deltona, 10-0, in five innings. Myers was dealing all game.

In five innings, Myers (1-1) had four strikeouts, issued no walks, and gave up two hits. He threw 56 pitches — 43 for strikes

"Nick had great tempo and never took his foot off the gas,” FPC coach Steve Poppe said. “That was the key to his success. He was throwing strikes and his tempo is what kept us moving. We scored six runs in the third inning and could've hit cruise control, but Nick continued to deliver and it kept us moving.”

Third baseman Josh Greiner went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Lorenza Williams went 2-for-2 with a walk.

After scoring two runs in the first inning, the Bulldogs exploded for six runs in the third before tacking on another two runs in the fifth inning to get the mercy rule.

Next up, FPC plays 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at home against Seabreeze.
