Another tool out of the toolbox
6:37 a.m. — First Block of Town Center Boulevard. Larceny — Motor vehicle. A victim stated that upon his crew’s arrival at work, it was evident that multiple toolbox doors on multiple trucks had been tampered with. Upon further investigation, they found that one of the toolbox doors had been pried open and severely damaged. A toolbox door from a different truck had the lock removed and two chainsaws taken. The approximate values of the chainsaws are $250 and $350, and the estimated cost of the damage to the truck is $600.
It is unclear what the suspect(s) used to gain entry or why the same method was not implemented on the other vehicles.

9:04 a.m. — 200 Block of County Road 302. Suspicious incident. A victim stated that someone had dug up her septic tank and cut her septic lines in two places.
She stated that at 11:30 p.m., she heard noises outside around her residence. After hearing the noise, she decided to go outside and check around her barn to see if anyone was there. She did not see anyone or anything out of the ordinary.
She advised she did not notice the damage to the septic tank or lines until a couple of mornings later at approximately 8:30, when she was walking around her residence. She stated she has no idea who caused the damage and has no further information at this time.
Fishing is life
11:19 a.m. — 3000 Block of County Road 2006. Larceny — Motor vehicle. A victim stated that an unknown person stole a 14-foot freshwater fishing pole out of his boat. He advised that he parked his boat at approximately 5:30 p.m. and left it unattended overnight. When he returned at 7:30 the following morning, he noticed that one of the five fishing poles he had left on the boat was missing. He went out fishing until about 11:30 a.m., at which time he notified the Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was unable to provide a written statement as he did not have his prescription eyeglasses with him to be able to read and write.
We’re gonna need a bigger purse
4:55 p.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Larceny — Shoplifting. A loss prevention officer stated that he observed a female shopper select a tan purse, a black shirt and a package of nails. She then placed her own pink purse and the other merchandise inside the tan purse and exited the store, passing all points of sale without attempting to pay.
The employee apprehended the suspect and escorted her to the loss prevention office. The total value of the items stolen was $34.97. The shoplifter was placed under arrest for retail theft and released with a notice to appear in court. She was also provided with a written trespass warning for the store.
Tire puncturer ‘downright rude’
9:53 p.m. — 200 Block of St. Joe Plaza Drive. Criminal mischief. A vicitm stated that a male suspect punctured or slashed the rear passenger tire of his BMW SUV. The victim believes the suspect became angry with him because he was speaking with the suspect’s girlfriend. He stated that he was just trying to be polite and that when the suspect spoke with him he was downright rude. The victim was later notified by an employee that someone damaged his vehicle and it was witnessed by another bar patron.
Upon contacting the witness, he stated that he had just parked his car when he observed a guy trying numerous times to puncture a tire. He heard air leaking and then watched the man get into his own car.
The girlfriend of the suspect stated that he had just gone home and that he did not damage the vehicle. She called and requested that he return to the business, at which point the victim and witness both confirmed that he was “the guy.” The suspect immediately denied any involvement.
The suspect was arrested for criminal mischief over $200.
