Although a scheduled date for the trial won’t be announced for another week or two, Jamesine Ann Fischer’s attorney, Steven Alexander, from St. Augustine, says that Fischer will plead “not guilty” to charges of a hit-and-run, leading to the death of Francoise Pecqueur.
“We’re going to vigorously fight these charges. We feel she’s not guilty of these charges and that’s all I’m going say,” Alexander stated Monday, over the phone.
Fischer was charged with fleeing the scene of a crash involving death. The investigator’s report states that she struck 70-year-old Francoise Pecqueur in the C-section with her car last November, and didn’t call the collision in to emergency services until about 12 hours after the crash.
Fischer surrendered herself at approximately 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Flagler County Jail. She then posted bond on $30,000 and was released.
