Cassie Crain, a senior at Flagler Palm Coast High School, has signed her National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse at Florida Southern College.
Florida Southern, located in Lakeland, competes in Division II of the NCAA.
Crain, who will enter her fourth season on the Lady Bulldogs varsity lacrosse team this spring, played volleyball for her first three years. Academically, Crain is involved in student government, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and was vice president of her junior class.
As a freshman, Crain scored 23 goals, had 17 assists, and was named rookie of the year. As a sophomore, she scored 32 goals, had 20 assists, and was named best all-around player. Last season, as a junior, Crain scored 41 goals, had 27 assists, was co-captain and named best midfielder. She was also named a 2011 U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American.
After graduating high school in May, Crain will receiver her Associate’s degree from Daytona State College, in June. At Florida Southern, Crain will play lacrosse and study nursing.
