Former Flagler Palm Coast standout Mardy Gilyard has agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to the team’s website.
The Eagles announced the signing of Gilyard to a futures contract Friday. Because Gilyard wasn’t on a team when the 2011 regular season ended, he was eligible to sign the futures contract prior to the beginning of the 2012 season, which begins in March.
Gilyard, 25, was an All-American kick returner in college. In 2009, Gilyard had 87 receptions for 1,191 yards and 11 touchdowns, with the University of Cincinnati.
