Ratchet up the suspense
6:01 p.m. — First Block of Slogan Court. Burglary-residential. A victim advised that between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. an unknown person by unknown means broke into his residence.
Upon investigation, an unlocked window was discovered in the back bedroom of the residence. It is unknown whether the window was left unlocked by the victim; there were no signs of forced entry.
The items stolen included a Sony PS3 and controller, a Nintendo Wii and miscellaneous accessories, a camcorder, an HP Pavilion laptop and a 24-karat-gold air ratchet in an embossed wooden box. The total value of the items was $1810.
Not so fast ...
5:50 p.m. — 4000 Block of Belle Terre Parkway. Larceny-shoplifting. A grocery store manager observed a female concealing items underneath her purse, which was sitting in the basket. The shopper passed through a point of sale without paying for the items and exited the store, at which point she was taken into custody. The total value of the items was $53.33.
Dec. 24
Runaway pool pump
11:10 a.m. — First Block of Lindsay Drive. Larceny. A victim noticed that his pool pump was missing from the outside of his residence. He advised that he had returned to town on Dec. 22, but did not notice until this date that his pool was not working properly.
After speaking with his “pool man” who performed maintenance on Dec. 15, the victim believes the pump was taken sometime between Dec. 15 and Dec. 22. He stated that he has cameras placed around his residence and would be checking those for any suspects or vehicles.
Someone didn’t do what he ‘Otter’
9:45 a.m. — 300 Block of Underwood Trail. Larceny-motorvehicle. A complainant stated that an unknown person, by unknown means, broke into his van and took several items. The vehicle was left in the driveway unsecure and unattended between the hours of 4:30 and 9 a.m.
Two Christmas gifts were stolen, along with a video game and a GPS. One of the Christmas gifts was a Sony MP3 player; the other was an Otter Box for an iPhone. The total value of the stolen items was $185.
Dec. 25
Shotgun stole on Christmas
6:53 p.m. — First Block of Bannerwood Lane. Burglary. A home owner arrived home from vacation and heard rustling from the rear of his house. By the time law enforcement arrived, the unknown suspect had fled the area.
Entry was made through the lanai door, which was damaged, and the suspect then entered the residence through through the rear sliding glass door by use of a pair of scissors. In the master bedroom, dresser drawers were scattered on the floor; a jewelry box and some watches were missing.
A black pump action shotgun was also missing from the walk-in closet in the master bathroom. The attic was left open with a ladder beneath it, although nothing appeared to be missing or gone through. Nothing further to report at this time.

Dec. 24
I stick my necklace out for nobody
6:22 p.m. — First Block of Seattle Trail. Burglary. A victim stated that he and his family had left their residence Dec. 21, en route to Tennessee. He had placed a necklace and bracelet that he purchased for his girlfriend underneath his pillow in his bedroom, and locked the door. He also secured the residence.
When he returned on this day, he found the residence to be hot inside and that his sister’s bedroom light did not work.
He then asked a friend to take him to get a haircut. When he returned, he checked his bedroom for the bracelet and necklace and could not find either of them.
He could not find any signs of forced entry. The victim advised that the necklace and bracelet were both 10-karat gold with diamond chips, and they were a set valued at $800.
