Shed some light on this shed?
9:53 p.m. — 3000 Block of Clove Avenue. Burglary-residential. A victim stated that he was away from his house Jan. 5 to Jan. 6, and that during that time someone broke into his shed. He stated that the shed door was locked prior to him leaving but had been pried open while he was gone.
Several items were stolen, including a large window air-conditioning unit, a Craftsman table saw, a Craftsman riding lawn mower, two push mowers, a Craftsman string trimmer, a Troy-Bilt string trimmer and a Char-broil grill.
Jan. 7
Been to Aruba lately?
10:13 a.m. — First Block of Old Kings Road North. Fraud. A victim stated his credit card was possibly “skimmed” while purchasing gasoline at a gas station. On Jan. 5, he pumped gasoline on pump 3, totaling $40.05. On Jan. 7, he was notified by his bank that there was unusual activity on his account.
There were two transactions on his account from Aruba Island from “Trans-Corp.” The first was for 11 cents, the other for $1,876.76. The victim believes the suspect(s) had viewed his account balance because the second transaction was close to his current balance. He has been in contact with his bank and will be filing a fraud claim.

Expensive potty break
5:16 p.m. — First Block of Town Center Drive. Larceny-motorvehicle. A victim advised that she was at this location around 1 p.m. Her purse was stolen, and she went into the store to make sure she hadn’t left it there.
She believes the purse was stolen out of her vehicle when she left it momentarily to use the restroom and left the car doors unlocked. She was at Town Center with her two children and felt safe leaving the vehicle unsecured. When she returned, however, the purse was gone.
Inside the purse were $40 cash and her mother’s ATM card. There are no suspects at this time.
De-screening process
4:49 p.m. — 100 Block of Westchester Lane. Burglary-residential. A victim advised that sometime between noon and 5 p.m. on this date his house was burglarized. His son called him when he came home and found that the back door screen had been cut, and the window and rear doors were open. He also checked his father’s bedroom and saw file papers thrown all over the room and all the dresser drawers open. Missing items included a flat-screen television and a loaded .40-caliber Smith & Wesson hand gun. An attempt to gather fingerprints was met with negative results.
Jan. 10
Meet me at the bedding aisle
12:50 p.m. — 5000 Block of State Road 100. Larceny-Shoplifting. An employee observed a suspect enter the store and begin to peruse the merchandise in the women’s department. She picked up several items and placed them in her purse. The employee then observed an unidentified accomplice hand several more items to the suspect.
The suspect then proceeded through several more sections before stopping at a bedding aisle, at which time she concealed the remaining merchandise from her hands in her purse. She then made her way toward the exit, passed all points of purchase without paying for the items, and was apprehended by loss prevention officers.
The total value of the concealed items was $139.94. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Jan. 7
... on shoplifting
12:03 p.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Larceny-shoplifting. An employee observed the suspect take two items off the sales shelves and place them inside his shopping cart. The suspect then used metal cutters to open a package containing a drill. He concealed all the items in his front right pocket and walked to the front of the store.
The suspect passed all points of sale without attempting to pay for the items in his pocket. He was escorted to the loss prevention office, where the stolen items were recovered. They included a Black & Decker drill package and one pair of Stanley cutters, for a total value of $48.85. The suspect was issued a notice to appear and released from the scene.
