+ Craig Coffey contract extended through 2016
The County Commission on Monday unanimously approved the extension of County Administrator Craig Coffey’s contract through 2016.
Coffey was originally hired Nov. 7, 2007. Then, his contract was extended with a 3-2 vote in June 2010.
The amendment was placed on Monday’s agenda because the state recently reduced severance from six months down to 20 weeks.
The terms of Monday’s agreement extend Coffey’s contract from Dec. 4, 2013, until Feb. 23, 2016.
The agreement also calls for a three-year extension, through Feb. 23, 2019, “if the (County Commission) fails to communicate to (Coffey) by Oct. 23, 2015, in writing that it chooses not to renew this agreement.”
