+ Business Assistance Center plugs free July events
The Palm Coast Business Assistance Center is offering free workshops to aid local entrepreneurs start and manage their businesses. The organization’s “How to start a business” workshop will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Daytona State College.
The “Intro to Quickbooks” workshop will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, and Wednesday, Aug. 1, at BAC offices, in City Marketplace. Call 986.4765.

The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates will host a grand opening ribbon cutting 4 p.m. Thursday, June 12, for Haven Hospice, at 608 State Road 100. The company has been active in north Florida since 1979.

The Flagler Business Women are now accepting applications for their Woman of the Year award. To nominate a candidate — all candidates must live in or spend most of their work time in the county — visit flaglerbusinesswomen.org.
Last year’s winner was former Palm Coast City Councilwoman Mary DiStefano. Deadline for all nominations is Aug. 15.
