+ Flagler schools receive A’s, B’s
Florida Department of Education school scores have been released, showing Flagler County performing above state level.

In the face of higher state standards this year, all of Flagler’s traditional public schools earned either an A or B, compared to Florida, which posted 69% of its schools at A or B level.

High school scores have not yet been released.

Flagler’s grades are as follows:

Belle Terre Elementary A
Bunnell Elementary A
Old Kings Elementary A
Rymfire Elementary B
Wadsworth Elementary A
Buddy Taylor Middle B
Indian Trails Middle B

Charter Schools Grades
Imagine at Town Center A
Palm Harbor Academy F

The district will devise an improvement plan for Palm Harbor.

+ Northeast Florida nonprofit named Agency of Year
The Florida Association of Community Action has named the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency, which helps low-income families become financially independent, its 2012 Agency of Year.

The nonprofit has taken home this honor five of the past six years.

With programs focusing on job-skill development, literacy and more, the NFCAA served 2,982 Flagler residents and 998 families in its last fiscal year. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Flagler has a current poverty rate of 15.5%.

+ Verdict: Pollinger is on the ballot
Circuit Court Judge Dennis Craig ruled Tuesday, July 9, that Flagler County Sheriff candidate John Pollinger will appear on the Aug. 14 ballot, as a Republican.

Pollinger’s legal battle for candidacy has been ongoing for more than two months.

The Business Assistance Center’s “How to start a business” workshop was July 12.

Palm Coast City Council — the next regular meeting is 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at the Palm Coast Community Center.

Flagler County Board of County Commissioners
— the next regular meeting is 5 p.m. Monday, July 16, at the Government Services Building.

Flagler County School Board
— the next workshop is 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at the Government Services Building. The regular meeting follows, at 6 p.m.
