TV wheeled away
4:41 p.m. — 5000 Block of East State Road 100. Larceny Shoplifting. An employee reported that he arrived at work at 2 p.m. and noticed an empty shelf in electronics that normally contained a 50-inch TV. He reviewed the store’s video surveillance system and observed a white male enter the store at 8:35 a.m.
The suspect was observed placing the boxed TV on top of a shopping cart and then exiting the store at 8:45 a.m. He was able to remove the anti-theft device to avoid detection and placed the TV in a silver van. The male was between the ages of 25 and 35 and was wearing a black ball cap, yellow shirt and black shorts. The television is valued at $649.
Shorts sale
8:19 p.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Larceny Shoplifting. An employee stated that he observed the suspect within the fishing section of the store selecting and concealing several fishing items in his shorts pockets. The suspect then exited the store, passing all points of sale and making no attempt to pay for the items. He was apprehended and escorted to the loss prevention office.
The total value of the items was $27.69. The suspect was issued a trespass warning for the store and a notice to appear on July 31.
A shoe-in
9:38 p.m. — First Block of Old Kings Road. Narcotics. A green jeep was traveling eastbound with its white rear reverse lights illuminated. The officer performed a traffic stop, and as he was returning to his vehicle he observed the backseat passenger reaching down by his feet.
The officer stood outside the vehicle and shined his flashlight inside, observing the passenger putting items into his left shoe. A clear baggy containing a green leafy substance was in plain view, and the passenger was secured in handcuffs. A blue glass pipe with cannabis residue was also removed from his left shoe. He was released with a notice to appear on July 31, and the driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning in reference to the equipment violation.
