The June unemployment data released by the Center for Business Excellence showed Flagler County at 12.3%, making it the second highest in the state, behind Hendry County. Volusia was 9.1.%.
Nonagricultural employment in the Palm Coast metro area was 18,500 in June, down 100 jobs (-.5%) over the year. Statewide, employment increased by .9% over the same time period.
Government jobs (+200) was the only major sector that gained jobs over the year. Seven out of 10 major sectors remained unchanged over the year. Palm Coast had the second highest growth rate in government jobs, compared to the state’s other metro areas.
Information (-200) and leisure and hospitality (-100) lost jobs over the year.
