An unidentified male was arrested Sunday evening in connection with three armed robberies during a two-day span in Flagler County this weekend.
The man first struck around 1:16 p.m. Saturday, when he robbed the Shell gas station, located off Celico Way, in Palm Coast.
Detectives said the white male entered the store around carrying a knife that was tucked to his right side under his shirt. He pulled the knife out and threatened the clerk as he walked behind the counter.
After being given an undetermined amount of cash, the robber fled on foot out of the door and headed in a northern direction. No vehicle was seen.
Then, nearly 24 hours later, the same man entered the BP station at 2245 Old Dixie Hhighway, in southern Flagler County. The clerk inside told deputies the man entered the store around 12:26 p.m. Sunday, selected a soft drink and placed it on the counter.
He then pulled a 10- to 12-inch knife and demanded money from the register drawer. He fled the store on foot, but then got into a vehicle and headed eastbound on Old Dixie Highway toward Interstate 95.
Later Sunday afternoon, the man attempted to strike for a third and final time.
The suspected robber was apprehended shortly after the robbery of a Mobile station at 6020 E. State Road 100 at 7:11 p.m. Sunday. No one was injured in any of the incidents.
Flagler County Sheriff Donald Fleming said in a phone interview Monday that deputies spotted the car, stopped the man and caught him with a knife.
“He wasn’t cooperative,” Fleming said. “He had to be tasered.”
