Fishy bike swap
3:34 p.m. — Birchview Place. Larceny. A victim stated that he was fishing at a canal at the end of a cul-de-sac when an unknown person stole his K2 Easy Street mountain bike. The bike is blue, black and silver with a mirror on the left side, a headlight and taillight, a Schwinn luggage rack, a tire pump and a Diamondback water bottle. He left the bike unsecured, adjacent to the canal, approximately 50 feet from where he was fishing. He stated that he had purchased the bike in January and it was valued at $600.
He also stated that while he was fishing, he heard a noise that made him turn and look, and he saw someone stealing his bike. Due to a recent knee injury, he was not able to give chase. He further stated that the unknown person that stole his bike had left behind a pink beach cruiser bike in very poor condition.
A canvas of the surrounding area was conducted and contact was made with children outside playing, who stated they did not see anything. The victim’s bike was entered as stolen, and he was given a case information card.
Tire thief
8:08 a.m. — 5000 Block of Mahogany Boulevard. Larceny. A victim stated that someone stole the front tire off his bicycle that was located in the front yard. He had put the bicycle on the edge of his residence to try and sell it and had a “For Sale” sign on the bike so no one would think it was trash.
He advised that the last time he had seen the tire on the bike was approximately 8 p.m. May 23, when the bike was sitting at the edge of his residence. At approximately 8 a.m. the next morning, he noticed the tire was missing.
The tire and rim are black and chrome and the mountain bike is green.
The victim was unable to provide any information on who may have stolen the tire.
